Kavaja and democracy are inseparable

From the meetings of the chairman of PDSH, Prof. Dr. Tritan Shehu, with the residents of Kavaja The first meetings of yesterday for this day were held by Mr. Tritan Shehu with the elderly people of Kavaja. An event for this group had been organized in the cinema hall. The meeting was also attended by the candidate for electoral zone no. 97, Mr. Sebri Godo. As Mr. Shehu said in his speech, Albania and Albanians are grateful to that layer of the population that worked and sacrificed for the homeland in difficult times, endured harsh years under a communist dictatorship, and today is an active part of democratic processes. This age group, with its experience, is a school and an example for the younger generations. Referring to the 26 May election process, Mr. Shehu said that a PDSH victory would be not only its own victory, but the victory of a wise policy to lead Albania toward Europe. He added that standing against it is the divided left, politically spent, incapable of offering alternatives. This left, under the guise of social democracy, carries the same mentality of the past. Later, Mr. Shehu met with residents of the neighborhoods and with intellectuals of the city. In the discussions held, he stressed that Kavaja has been one of the main centers of the democratic movement and that it will remain a bastion of the right. According to him, the city has benefited from economic reforms, from the encouragement of private business, and from the opening of the country. In the meetings with citizens, everyday problems were also discussed, as well as infrastructure, services, and the need for more investment. The chairman of PDSH promised that the party's program aims to further improve citizens' lives and strengthen democratic institutions.
